Development of Phyto-nutrients to prevent and treat opioid use disorders and overdose
Neurological, pharmacological, and molecular chemistry diagnoses of opioid overdose disorder, translational dietary treatment, transformational education, transcendental rehabilitation, and minimized relapse.
0 The aims of this project include
- Molecular chemistry characterization of the nongenetic code-based RNA enzyme synthesized by opium poppy NADH-glutamate dehydrogenase redox cycle isoenzymes.
- Molecular chemistry diagnostic characterization of the nongenetic code-based RNA enzyme synthesized by human tissue NADH-glutamate dehydrogenase redox cycle isoenzymes in response to opioid overdose disorder.
- Translational dietary and nutritional including pharmacological management of opioid addiction.
- Clinical trials: Monitor neurological changes during therapeutic and translational dietary treatments of opioid overdose disorder.
- Pharmacological trials: Monitor the detoxification pharmacokinetics during therapeutic and translational dietary treatments of opioid overdose disorder.
- Conduct transcendental education of the addicted during treatments, rehabilitation, and post rehabilitation.
A Rehab and educational facility for opioid overdose disorder
The Claretian University of Nigeria (CUN) is willing and ready to offer education and rehabilitation for the purpose of minimizing the epidemic of opioid overdose disorder in Nigeria. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is hashing a memorandum of understanding with CUN in a quest as an academic institution to join in finding solutions to curb/prevent the menace of opioid overdose disorder, and trafficking. CUN’s CUP (Community University's Program) research projects will target at solving common problems in the Nigerian society and helping to reorientate the youths from illegal activities to proud civil coded nation building activities. On opioid drugs, CUN plans to research the chemical attractions to them, study the addictive characteristics of the opioids, the translational treatments of the disorder, and educational transcendental rehabilitation post treatment. CUN will establish data bases of known opioid addicts, victims of the addictions, and farmers of the plants /herbs
